1. May 2021 to date: Chief Research Officer, National Land Commission, Department of Research.

Duties and responsibilities

• Directing the work of the Senior Research Officers
• Defining the work targets and outcomes for Senior Research Officers
• Assisting in conducting of annual performance reviews and meetings
• Assisting in production of knowledge and its management and dissemination
• Enabling management and external partners/clients to understand result and implications of research and knowledge management results on the land sector
• Managing and undertake research and analysis on major areas of land reform
• Developing National Land Commissions’ resources and materials such as online profiling of land matters and reform
• Preparing funding proposals and bids
• Developing and maintaining contact databases and engaging with National Land Commissions’ stakeholders
• Supporting networks of stakeholders in the field
• Implementing the setting up of the National Land Policy and Research Centre
• Conducting research site visits
• Ensuring correct and objective researched information on land is disseminated nationally and internationally
• Participating in the Directorates budget and procurement process

2. January 2017 to date: Lecturer at University of Nairobi, Department of Economics and Development Studies.
3. June 2018. Freelance Consultant on Impact Evaluation.
4. February to November 2016: Technical Support Person for National AIDS Control Council (NACC) where he supported the development and Mid-term review of County AIDS Strategic Plans.
5. September 2009 – May 2017: Consultant and Part-time Lecturer at various Universities in Kenya, Teaching Economics.
6. January 2009 to December 2014: Research supervisor/assistant at Kenya Institute of Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA). Involved in collecting household data and supervising data collection.
